YEAR 1 ROBERT KLIPPEL AND JOAN MIRO INSPIRED WORK

YEAR 1 took inspiration from Australian artist Robert Klippels' whimsical sculptures and Spanish artist Joan Miro's minimalist paintings and sculptures.  The students embraced these artist's works to produce their own fantastic paintings and kinaesthetic sculptures.

FEAST YEAR 2

Look at these wonderful ceramic pieces made by my wonderful Year 2 creatives!  They have produced pieces with character, pieces that hold precious trinkets and pieces that would fit right in on Alice's in Wonderlands table.  I love them.

YEAR 2 SYMMETRICAL (Mostly) TOY ROBOTS/ALIENS

Year 2 looked at symmetry, concluding it meant if you drew a line down the middle of an image it would be the same on both sides.  Some students decided their masterpiece would be symmetrical except for the arms.  Students painted their imaginary creations using gouache and black pens.

YEAR 3 ABORIGINAL INSPIRED ART

YEAR 3 students have looked at the 2018 Wynne Prize finalists that are currently being exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.  Aboriginal artists Yaritji Young, Betty Kuntiwa Pumani and Maringka Baker have been the inspiration for their current artworks.  This is the beginning layer of what promises to be the most wonderful artworks.  I am so lucky to be able to witness the progression of these art pieces.

Year 4 Built Environment

Year 4 has researched interesting, significant buildings from around the world.  They created their buildings using a variety of materials and painted a "brick" on which to display them.  Here is a sample of what they look like.  Can you name all the buildings?

YEAR 5 DESIGNER LAMP SHADES

Year 5 looked at design in general, trying to identify some principles of design through observation.  They decided many of the designs they studied had repetition, pattern, rhythm, balance as well as other principles.  They used this information to create their own beautiful designs for their lampshade.  Here are some beautiful examples.
