Year 6 has been looking at the styles and techniques
of mosaic designs throughout history.
From Greece to Europe, Africa, The Middle East and South America, mosaic
art has been used to decorate walls, floors, places of worship and palaces. Using pieces of painted canvas students designed
their composition, cut the shapes of their tiles and glued them in place. Once dry the tiles were grouted and the
background painted to produce the final work. Watch this space....there are more stunning pieces to come!
A K-6 art blog showcasing the artistic talents of students from Turramurra North Public School. The artworks featured include sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and artworks produced using various art apps.

YEAR 5 AUSTRALIAN FLORA AND FAUNA
Year 5 students have been drawing on the right side of their brain. This technique involves turning a recognisable image upside down to encourage your brain to focus your eyes on the lines and form of the object and in doing so you draw what you "see" rather than what you "know". The students have also been drawing with black pen on white paper and then white and coloured oil pastels on black paper. The results speak for themselves!
