Year 1 studied buildings in and around Sydney, noting the windows, roofs and doorways. Some building had pointed roofs, some had flat roofs. Students used a variety of objects to print the outlines of their buildings, creating windows, rooftops and doorways. There are clock towers, high density living, skyscrapers, overhead walkways, communication towers and weather beacons. I think Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid would be most impressed.

YEAR 3 CHINESE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER
Year 3 experimented with
Expressionism by creating these roosters.
Students studied images of roosters and used viewfinders to focus on
specific areas eg. Legs, beak, tail feathers.
Year 3 drew images of roosters before producing the final work. Students' art paper was scattered with
powdered pigment then sprayed with water.
They used ink wash to paint their rooster. It was very experimental as the ink wash bled
into other colours. Some students enjoyed the process and final product and
others found it challenging as they were not in total control of the paint. It was an interesting experiment with
Expressionism and I think you will agree these Roosters have personality and some have attitude!
