STAGE 2 - YEAR 3 and 4 EXQUISITE CORPSE

Exquisite Corpse was invented in Paris in 1925 by Surrealist Artists Tanguy, Prevert, Breton and Duchamp.  It is a drawing exercise whereby, in our case, the paper is folded into 3 equal sections and the first person draws the head.  This is folded back so the next person cannot see the head but draws the body and then this is also folded to be hidden and the last person draws legs.  These Exquisite Corpse Drawings are truly EXQUISITE.   Stage 2, your truly incredible creativity and imagination as well as your exceptional talent has made me so proud.  You are such wonderful artists!  Thank you.

KINDERGARTEN YOUNGEST ARCHIES

In preparation for the unveiling of this year's Archibald Prize Finalists, Kindergarten is learning about portraiture.  We talked about positioning of facial features and closed our eyes and pictured our dads. These expressive first portraits were done after discussion - no practice, just off the cuff.  Dads, can you find yourself amongst these beautiful images?

YEAR 6 GRAYSCALE DRAWINGS

Year 6 studied the all important element of value in art.  Students created a small 5 range grayscale and then used this to create these beautiful pencil drawings.  Understanding grayscale is a vital element in creating artworks that have dimension.  It is key to all drawing and painting.
