Year 5 students are on fire this year! We are studying Value, an important element of art. The students create these simple yet powerful pieces by using line to section off their paper. They used a variety of B pencils and paper stumps to create these beautiful works. I love working with these students.

KINDERGARTEN LIVING THINGS
Kindergarten identified living things as things that breath and move. They created these imaginary living things with paint and added to their bags by drawing other living things.
YEAR 1 RADIATING PATTERNS
Year 1 learnt about warm and cool colours. They created these beautiful designs using warm or cool colours or a combination of both. The students began in the middle of the page and added to their design by building upon the central point.

YEAR 5 COLOUR MATCHING ABSTRACT ARTWORKS
Continuing the theme of abstract painting for the older grades, year 5 have produced huge collaborative pieces of art. Employing the techniques of colour matching, blending, reproduction and shading, students viewed works by contemporary artists. Each student chose a small section of the painting and reproduced it on a larger scale. The pieces were then randomly reassembled. This is the first of the paintings.
