Year 3 discovered Louise Nevelson’s assemblages were 3-D and mostly contained within a
certain space.
We looked at the
objects she used as well as her technique and realised she used repetition,
space and form. By painting her boxes
one colour - (monochromatic), she was able to create defined shadow lines. The shapes within her boxes
changed and moved according to where the light source was coming from.
Year 3 created their
own Louise Nevelson inspired assemblages using the same principles and elements
of art and design.
