YEAR 4 SELF PORTRAITS WITH A TWIST

Year 4 have been designing their self portraits.  I couldn't resist, there are only a few that have been completed but they are breathtaking.  The absolute highlight of my job as a primary school art teacher is the joy I experience in witnessing students amazed at what they have achieved through their dedication and hard work.  These artworks are truly extraordinary and I constantly have to remind myself they have been created by primary students - what incredible futures await them!!

YEAR 1 CHRISTMAS PLATES

Year 1 has so very patiently waited for their Christmas Plates to be glazed and returned.  They have finally arrived and look at the spectacular results!!

YEAR 3 PHOTOGRAPHY

Year 3 students studied a series of photographs and identified some simple rules.  We looked at the rule of thirds, changing perspective and angle and using editing tools.  The students applied this new knowledge and produced these interesting and beautiful photographs.  Who would have thought the school grounds could be so interesting!  Here is an update, more photographs and the students viewing the makeshift gallery in the art room.

KINDERGARTEN

Like the French Impressionists, Kindergarten worked “en plein air” for the first part of this artwork.   The students observed and drew what was in the TNPS Vegetable Garden, learning about the horizon line.  They imagined what might be under the ground attached to the leaves.  Can you see some roots and worms?
