Year 6 have explored mixed media and bravely stepped outside their comfort zone to embrace the concepts of pushing and pulling a drawing through working quite quickly, not being afraid to "lose" and then "find" their drawing by building layers of paper, paint, charcoal, ink, graphite and pen. I am very proud of what they have produced. It is not easy to let go, sometimes it feels very out of control but by doing this in a considered way drawing skills improve exponentially. Some of the drawings become clearer when you squint - another great way of actually seeing detail, light and shadow when looking at artworks.
