Year 4 has been creating their own version of a triptych. A triptych is a set of three panels side by side. The photographs in this post show three types of art along the same theme but I have not photographed the students work as individual triptychs, instead the collective triptychs consist of
1. A pencil observation drawing, making use of a paper stump
2. A painting using tint - adding white to a colour and shade - adding black to a colour
3. A black pen drawing using line to denote dimension, light and shade.
The students initially used a viewfinder to draw their focus to a small area of a seed pod and drew this in their visual art diaries. By practicing this discipline, they were able to focus on form, shape, tone, shade and texture. I think they have produced amazing artwork, I am so proud of their efforts.
